Filmmaker Deva Katta is presenting a completely different kind of film with ‘Jo Jo’, a new romantic comedy with a raw and rural setting. The movie is written and directed by Kiran Jay Kumar, who is known for his work on Mayasabha. The story takes place in the dry and unusual diamond fields of Jonnagiri.

Unlike the serious films associated with Deva Katta, ‘Jo Jo’ focuses on romance, comedy, dreams and the struggle to change one’s life. The film promises a fun story with a bold and unfiltered style.

The story follows two poor young men and a fearless woman who dream of finding a valuable diamond. They believe that discovering one diamond could completely change their lives. However, their search does not go as planned.

Their hunt soon leads to several unexpected situations. Romance, greed, betrayal, danger and comedy become part of their journey. The film explores how people can go to extreme lengths when they believe a better future is within their reach.

The title announcement poster gives a glimpse of the movie’s rustic world. It shows the main character against the dry landscape of Jonnagiri. The makers have also used a humorous warning in Telugu, suggesting that the film will not follow traditional rules when it comes to comedy and romance.

‘Jo Jo’ is produced by Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni under the Vijayam banner. Kiran Jay Kumar has worked on the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction.

Krishna Kamal and Maahi Sri play Seenu and Supraja. The cast also includes Phanindra Devarapalli as Venkatesh, Prabhavathi as Vijayamma, Mahaboob Basha as Suri, Satish Devatte Tanjore as Rangasaami, Puduru Sharath Babu as Ramana and Makarand Deshpande as Mukesh Shah.

The technical team includes Rohith Kumar as cinematographer, Mahesh Shankar as music director and Madhav Kumar Gullapalli as editor. Rehman, Srinivas Mouli and Ramachandra are the lyricists.

Interestingly, Deva Katta, Kiran Jay Kumar and Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni previously worked together on Mayasabha: Rise of the Titans. While that project was a political drama, ‘Jo Jo’ takes them into a completely different genre.
