That’s how Devi Sri Prasad, our own DSP, got the spark for the cult hit “Aaradugula Bullet.” He recently showed up on Jagapathi Babu’s show Jayammu Nischayammu, which has been going viral with stars opening up in ways fans didn’t expect. After guests like Akkineni Nagarjuna and Baahubali Producer Shobu Yarlagadda, it was DSP’s turn to bring his trademark energy, jokes, and a few crazy stories from his music days.
The chat kicked off with Jagapathi Babu praising DSP’s mass background score for Legend, where he played the villain opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna. DSP laughed and said he wanted every beat to match Jagapathi’s intensity in those scenes. But the fun really began when they spoke about Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi. DSP shared how “Ninnu Chudagaane” happened out of the blue. “I was just watching a few girls walking on the road,” he grinned, “and suddenly that line popped in, after seeing you, my heart started beating fast.”
Then he dropped the main story, how “Aaradugula Bullet” was born. “Pawan Kalyan asked me to show the tune,” DSP said, laughing. There was a camera stand nearby, I picked it up and acted like I was shooting with it. That’s how the idea clicked, it just happened, no overthinking.
The rest of the episode is dropping this Sunday on Zee, and if this bit is anything to go by, it’s going to be a fun, full-of-chaos ride. DSP clearly doesn’t just compose music, he lives it.
