In the wake of OTT explosion, every big star is charging huge from the producers, no matter whether the producers are making profits or not. While Dhanush gets hailed for producing movies in just ₹5-10 crores budget, the actors makes sure that he walks away with a huge fat paycheck when he’s acting in another producer’s banner.

Reports are popping up that Dhanush reportedly charged almost ₹60 crores for his latest Tamil film “Kara” which is directed by Vignesh Raja, while the production cost of the movie is around ₹25 crores. While the film was released on good expectations, and even got supreme attention, it hasn’t clicked well. The film made around ₹45-50 crores gross collection from the box office, which means the producers would have got around ₹30 crores recovered. While the news of Kara’s OTT deal price is not available, surely it would have fetched easily another ₹40-50 crores, owing to the hero’s popularity across the nation. With Tere Ishq Mein turning out to be super successful on Netflix, his OTT price-demand is also quite good.

Reports are coming up that for his next film, his 55th, which will be directed by Amaran fame director Rajkumar Periasamy, the actor is charging around ₹70 crores as his pay packet. The movie’s product cost might shoot up more than ₹100 crores this time, keeping Dhanush’s paycheck aside. However, despite charging a bomb, Dhanush is not troubling his producers, as he made his production company a shareholder in the movie, so that he could take his remuneration after the film’s sales.
