Dhurandhar 2 Made Less Than Prabhas’ Spirit?

One of the super hit films that has come from Bollywood in recent times is none other than the “Dhurandhar” movie. After the success of the first part of the film, which grossed more than ₹1600 crores, naturally, there would be huge buzz for the second part, and so is the demand for OTT rights. But it looks like Dhurandhar 2 hasn’t excited Netflix as much as it excited Prabhas’ Spirit.

Currently, an interesting talk about both Dhurandhar 2 and Spirit OTT rights is happening in film circles. While Netflix paid nearly ₹150 crores for Spirit, they have refused such a hefty price for Dhurandhar 2. However, with Jio Hotstar paying nearly ₹180 crores, Dhurandhar 2 moved out of Netflix. Many are wondering why Netflix didn’t pay as much for Dhurandhar 2 as a Prabhas movie, and that explains how the stardom of heroes is very important for the streaming giant.

That too, with Spirit being the combination of the filmmaker who delivered Animal, which grossed more than ₹900 crores, and then Prabhas, who has already delivered a couple of films that are over ₹1000 crores in revenue, surely Netflix offering more for Spirit than Dhurandhar 2 is justifiable.

On the other hand, Dhurandhar 2’s entry into Jio Hotstar is strengthening the platform’s interesting catalogue, while the film is expected to make more than the original in theatres, as it hit cinemas on March 19, 2026.
