Massive And Needed Reprieve For Bollywood At Right Time!

Over the last few years, the kind of dominant that South Indian cinema and particularly Telugu cinema has been showing across the Indian Cinema sector has been beyond ordinary. In this period, Bollywood was absolutely clueless with regard to box office credentials or cultural significance in Indian cinema.

Bollywood has struggled for years because South Indian movies have been dominating the box office. But in 2025 things finally changed. The industry is ending the year on a strong note, and Ranveer Singh’s new movie Durandhar played a major role in this comeback.

The film released last week and received very positive reviews. It made huge money in the first weekend and surprisingly continued the same speed during the weekdays. Even in the second weekend the movie is earning like a new release. If this flow continues Durandhar may easily cross the five hundred crore mark in its total run.

Apart from the box office success the film started a big discussion in Bollywood. For many years filmmakers tried to show Pakistan and ISI in a softer or positive angle. They created stories where ISI works with RAW or where RAW has traitors.

This was mainly done to release films in Pakistan and to impress audiences in Gulf countries. But director Aditya Dhar changed everything with Durandhar. He showed the real face of Pakistan ISI and the terrorists there without hiding anything.

The audience strongly connected with this honest approach. Many people now feel that Durandhar is a game changer and that Bollywood will no longer accept old styles of romanticising Pakistan or its agencies.
