A new CBFC certificate is currently going viral on social media. It claims that Dhurandhar 1 and Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be combined into a single 7 hours 30 minutes long director’s cut and released on premium formats like IMAX and HDR. Now, this is where it gets interesting. Some people are getting ready to book tickets also, as they hope that the film will give 2 intervals to enjoy, and make it a worth watch. Here’s the whole truth.

The entire news turns out to be an April 1st joke, but many people have already started sharing it as if it is real. In recent times, we have seen multiple fake announcements going viral, especially around big films. Even during films like Salaar and Adipurush, several edited posters and false release updates spread widely before clarifications came in. For Varanasi also, more than the original content shared by SS Rajamouli, the fan edits have gone viral. At the same time, the craze around Dhurandhar is so high that anything related to it is getting instant traction.

So naturally, the question is simple. Why are such things getting believed so quickly? On the other hand, extended cuts and director’s versions are becoming common on OTT platforms. But a 7-hour theatrical release clearly sounds unrealistic. Which theatre would screen a film for 8 long hours, even if the ticket is priced at ₹1000 rupees? That’s a boring attempt for sure!
