Dhurandhar Telugu Version: Biggest Twist Shocks Telugu Makers
Coming out without any expectations on December 5th, the Hindi movie “Dhurandhar”
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Dec 2025 4:41 PM ISTComing out without any expectations on December 5th, the Hindi movie “Dhurandhar” turned heads due to the towering presence of director-producer Aditya Dhar of Uri and Article 370 fame.
Meeting with staunch criticism and applause, the film is now racing into the ₹800 crores club, but without a Telugu dubbed release.
Despite strong interest from major Telugu distributors and production houses like Geetha Arts and Mythri Movie Makers’ distribution wing, the film will not get a dubbed Telugu release if the news is to be believed.
The big twist is that, already, Dhurandhar Part 1 got sold to a leading OTT platform for an exorbitant price, and the clause is that all the dubbed languages will be available on OTT, but will not be released in theatres.
There was strong confidence that the pan-India appeal, especially with Ranveer Singh’s presence and the action-spy thriller format, could work well with Telugu audiences.
Now that the streaming agreement signed by the makers forbids additional language release, there’s no way Telugu folks could experience the Telugu version in theatres. Perhaps that’s the reason already Hindi version is clocking big monnies in the Telugu states as well.
For now, Dhurandhar will continue its run in Hindi and other languages permitted under existing agreements, while Telugu fans wait to see whether the sequel will get dubbed at least. That all depends on the agreements the original producers signed anyway.
