Alpha Vs Dhurandhar: What Does Collections Say?

While Dhurandhar is a gigantic and mammoth hit at the Box office, no superstar from Bollywood has ever tweeted about it. However, for Alia Bhatt’s Alpha movie, many stars have posted lots of tweets during the release of the teaser, trailer and before the release day as well. That made trade circles observe that “Alpha” is being pitched as a direct answer by Bollywood to “Dhurandhar”, which was carved by an outsider like Aditya Dhar.

Back in December 2025, when the film “Dhurandhar” is releasing, many didn’t even know what’s the story of the film was about. At the same time, the trailer went viral, but no one knows what the backdrop of the film is, Lyari Town, Karachi. With Ranveer Singh also going through the purple patch of his career, with no big films of him working at the box office, many wondered if the film would get at least a meaningful opening. However, the film managed to get ₹28+ crores nett opening on its Day 1 from India alone. And from the next day, the Box Office was on fire.

Coming to Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s “Alpha”, the trailer promised another big spy film from Yash Raj Films, loaded with action sequences and emotions. Similarly, the glamour treatment from the leading ladies is also expected. However, the film still got only ₹8 crores nett on its Opening Day from the Indian box office. A 20-crore shortage compared to Dhurandhar’s opening day itself proves that Alpha hasn’t hit the bull’s eye or made its mark felt.
