By: Tupaki Desk | 4 July 2025 12:21 PM ISTPiracy has long been a thorn in the side of the film industry, and Producer Dil Raju isn’t staying quiet about it. At a press meet on Thursday, the Telangana State Film Development Corporation Chairman spoke bluntly: the damage is real, and action is overdue. Alongside FDC MD CH Priyanka, he announced that the government and industry bodies are coming together to create a plan that hits piracy where it hurts.
Dil Raju mentioned that several discussions have already taken place with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. “We’re not sitting idle. Work has already begun,” he said. A committee will soon be formed, bringing together representatives from the Film Chamber, Cyber Cell, and police. It won’t stop there, shooting permissions and production-related coordination are also being looked at to cut red tape and push things forward.
This isn’t just a reaction to one issue. It’s an attempt to tighten up the system that supports the entire filmmaking process. Dil Raju made it clear that the industry needs stronger backing, and it’s going to take a joint effort to fix the cracks. He also emphasized that the government is ready to back these moves with real support.
CH Priyanka echoed that message, saying if someone from the industry raises a concern, they’re ready to take it seriously. The tone of the event wasn’t dramatic or vague it was practical, direct, and much-needed. With so much money and effort going into films, the least the industry deserves is protection from theft in plain sight.
