“Only if small budgeted films score a success, the industry will get healthy and healed. Currently the situation of the Telugu film industry is very bad.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 27 May 2026 3:55 PM ISTExpressing happiness for so many newcomer directors who have come to Tollywood, after looking lots of young directors on the stage of “Summer Holidays” movie teaser launch, ace producer Dil Raju hailed the likes of Sai Razesh (Baby director) and Sai (Little Hearts director) for making such cult movies in a limited budget. In fact, Dil Raju went a step ahead to reveal something interesting.
“Only if small budgeted films score a success, the industry will get healthy and healed. Currently the situation of the Telugu film industry is very bad. While others might hesitate to say that, but I’m underlining the reality here” he added. Of course, Dil Raju also started his career with small-budget and perfect films like Dil, Arya and Bommarillu. But later, at a time when his production house Sri Venkateswara Creations, is churning out only blockbusters, the producer tried some big-ticket movies with stars, and most of them have misfired at the box office. Currently, while the likes of Mythri Movie Makers and Sithara Entertainment are racing ahead, Dil Raju’s production houses are struggling to get things right.
On the flip side, many small film producers are worried that they are not getting the right theatres for their releases, and Dil Raju, being that biggie, should sort this out swiftly. At the same time, Dil Raju is also carving films like Yellamma, which might put the producer back on track for sure.
