The last time, senior Telugu producer, Dil Raju remade a film in Hindi, he delivered Jersey. This Hindi remake of Telugu film with the same title was jointly produced by Sitara, Allu entertainment and Dil Raju. It later turned out to be that all of the producers faced a bitter result with this film. Later he co-produced HIT remake as well which was a big disaster as well.

But the poor result of Hindi Jersey reportedly is not showing much of an effect on Dil Raju as he is coming up with another project now.

Dil Raju faced big losses earlier with the remakes of Jersey and HIT. Both films had good content, but their theatrical performance was very poor. They ended up as disasters and did not bring any profits. Those projects were made in partnership with other producers, so the control was shared. Because of these failures, many feel that Dil Raju wants to recover the losses he faced through his next remake.

This new remake is planned as a full commercial entertainer. Instead of making it with many partners, Dil Raju is producing it in a more focused and controlled way.

The team believes that a strong commercial format will work better in theatres, especially for a festival season release. Akshay Kumar and director Anees Bazmee are leading the project, which adds more strength and market value. The film is the remake of Sankranthi Ki Vasthunam and is being targeted for a Christmas 2026 release.

Dil Raju wants to prove that he can deliver a blockbuster remake by choosing mass elements, clear planning, and a strong star cast. After losing money on earlier content based remakes, he now aims for a safer and more profitable commercial film that can bring back success in theatres.
