Thanks to epic disaster, Shankar’s dream project is gone?
However, the project is currently on hold. This is primarily due to the fact that Shankar delivered an epic disaster with Game Changer.
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Jun 2025 6:54 PM ISTVeteran and Maverick Director Shankar had the golden chance of reviving his career with Game Changer. He had the luxury of working with superstar, Ram Charan, who is fresh of the success of RRR, but he messed up the film so very badly that he is not in a position to sign any new film.
Meanwhile, Shankar’s dream project is a grand historical film based on the Tamil novel Veera Yuga Nayagan Velpari, written by Su Venkatesan. This novel tells the story of Pari, one of the seven great Tamil kings, and is known for its rich history and strong characters.
Shankar plans to turn this novel into a massive three-part film series. He worked on the script during the COVID lockdown and has already completed it. He wants to present this story on a huge scale with top-quality visuals and powerful storytelling.
However, the project is currently on hold. This is primarily due to the fact that Shankar delivered an epic disaster with Game Changer. After the failure of this film, producer is willing to spend hundreds of crores on his dream project, which is anyway, not appealing to all sections of the audience.
After having led a remarkable career and made iconic films, Shankar is currently in a position where he is unable to materialise his very own dream project. This is the kind of results that one has to face after taking their glorious carriers for granted and making substandard films.
