Noted Director Talks About Capping Ticket Costs!

Talented director Anurag Kashyap is considered as torch bearer of new age and non-mainstream cinema. He is known for giving life to many fantastic artists like Vicky Kaushal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajkumar Rao and others. He is very vocal about his opinions on social media and gets into controversy a lot of times. He is a big name in Bollywood.

He recently shared his two cents on ticket prizes in theatres and gave an idea of capping ticket prizes. He said, “Look at how things are done in Kerala; they have a deeply cine-literate audience; they aren't just churning out good films; they're churning out hits after hits. Here, we're hero worshippers. We're an overpopulated country. Compared to China, we have a negligible number of cinemas.”

He added, “Here, if they don't meet a certain number of viewers, they cancel the show. You can't price your tickets higher than that; it doesn't matter if you've made RRR, or a small, independent film. We spend unnecessarily, which is being corrected now.” He even made some strong remarks on how the budgets are increasing because of the demands the heroes make these days.
