It is known that he was selected as the director for 'Devil' and he was replaced by Abhishek Nama who is also the producer of the movie. The differences between the young director and producer turned director are clearly evident as Naveen claims that he worked 105 shooting days but it was Abhishek Nama's name on the posters after doing only patch work according to many.
While the producer has a right to remove the director if his work is unsatisfactory, depriving him of the credits is something that is not acceptable. The same happened for 'Manikarnika'. Due to the differences between Krish and Kangana, the 'Vedam' director walked out of the movie and Kangana handled the rest of the project. But they were gracious enough to give credit to both Krish and Kangana in the director category.
Naveen was hurt by how things panned out. He said that he will not resort to legal battles but he claimed that he lost a lot. Many know what happened with 'Devil'. No matter whose fault it is, giving credit to someone's work is the least anyone could do. The Directors' Association staying silent about it is surprising to a lot of people as it is formed for the sole purpose of protecting the interests of the directors. They may claim that Naveen did not complain officially but he is coming out and claiming that he was not given credits. People will start believing in the system only when the organizations come forward to help them.
