A heated exchange has erupted between Bollywood producer Karan Johar and actress Divya Khosla Kumar after Divya accused KJo’s protectingé, Alia Bhatt, of purchasing tickets to her own film, Jigra, which is produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions. The feud intensified over the weekend as both took to social media to air their grievances without explicitly naming each other.

Karan Johar stirred the pot with a post on his Instagram Stories, stating, “Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools.” This cryptic message set the tone for the back-and-forth exchange. Divya quickly retaliated by sharing a quote on her own Instagram, asserting, “Truth will always offend fools opposed to it.” As the situation escalated, Divya felt compelled to make her stance clearer, posting another story that criticized those who "shamelessly" take what belongs to others, implying that such individuals often hide in silence.

Media reports indicate that Jigra grossed an impressive ₹4.5 crore on its opening day in India. However, Divya dismissed these figures, suggesting they were inflated at the behest of the production house. This controversy is particularly intriguing given that both Jigra and Divya’s film, Savi, share a similar premise involving a prison break. In Savi, Divya's character attempts to free her husband, while Alia's character in Jigra rescues her brother. Despite this narrative similarity, Savi only managed to earn ₹7.83 crore in its two-week theatrical run before being overshadowed by the more successful Chandu Champion.

Another layer to this conflict may stem from the box office clash between Jigra and the Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which is produced by Divya’s husband, Bhushan Kumar.
