By: Shanaz B Syed | 9 Oct 2025 11:16 AM ISTFestivals in cinema are like battlefields, and Diwali 2025 is shaping up to be one of the fiercest yet. This year, theatres will turn into war zones for audiences, with six films clashing head‑on. Three are straight Telugu releases, K Ramp, Telusu Kada, and Mithra Mandali, while the other three are big dubbed entries, Dude, Thamma, and Bison. Every film carries its own promise, and every release date is a strategic strike in the war for box‑office dominance.
K Ramp opens the Diwali battle on October 18. Directed by Jains Nani and starring Kiran Abbavaram and Yukti Thareja, this comedy entertainer backed by Hasya Movies has strong buzz. Telusu Kada follows on October 17, a romantic saga by Siddhu Jonnalagadda with Rashi Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles. Produced by People Media Factory, it aims to woo the heart‑hungry audience. Mithra Mandali, releasing October 16, is a comic venture from Bunny Vasu with Priyadarshi and Niharika NM leading a promising ensemble cast.
On the dubbed front, Dude comes out on October 17, blending Tamil and Telugu cinema appeal. Directed by Keerthiswaran, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, and starring Pradeep Ranganathan, the film carries expectations of mass connect. Thamma, releasing October 21, is a romantic horror comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal, a unique mix that could capture both mass and multiplex audiences. Bison, directed by Mari Selvaraj and starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameshwaran, also hits theatres on October 17 with a limited Telugu release, adding more spice to the clash.
This Diwali is not just a festival of lights, it’s a festival of competition. From comedy to romance, horror to sports drama, every film will try to stand out. Theatres are set for a busy season, and audiences will be the real winners with plenty of choices.
