Recreating DJ Tillu is a daunting task: Siddhu Jonnalagadda

Young actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda is gearing up to captivate audiences once more with his upcoming movie, "Tillu Square," hitting theaters worldwide on March 29, 2024. Directed by Mallik Ram, the film features Siddhu in the role of the beloved character Tillu, with Siddhu also showcasing his talents as the screenwriter. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and presented by Srikara Studios, "Tillu Square" promises to be a delightful cinematic experience.

The teaser and trailer of the film have already generated considerable buzz, setting high expectations among the audience. Adding to the anticipation, the team recently unveiled the third single, "Oh My Lilly," composed by Achu Rajamani and sung by Sreeram Chandra, with lyrics penned by Siddhu himself. The song, much like its predecessors, is poised to become a viral sensation, further fueling excitement for the impending release.

In a recent interaction with the media during the song release, Siddhu Jonnalagadda shared, "When we initially penned down DJ Tillu, it was done in a spontaneous, free-flowing manner without any particular expectations. However, the overwhelming response from the audience led us to reshape it into a character-driven narrative. As we embarked on crafting the sequel, maintaining the momentum proved to be quite challenging. We had no concrete plan in place initially. Although we aimed for a release on February 9th, we had to adjust due to the release of another film, 'Eagle.' Eventually, we unveiled the trailer for Tillu Square on Valentine's Day in response to numerous requests. The idea of a sequel initially caught me off guard when the producers proposed it, considering the massive success of the first installment. Recreating the magic of DJ Tillu posed a daunting task for any filmmaker. However, with the original director, Vimal Krishna, committed to another project, Mallik Ram and I decided to take on the challenge. Amidst our work on other projects, we contemplated giving the sequel a shot. And thus, the journey of Tillu Square began."

Actress Anupama Parameswaran, who plays the role of Lilly in the film, shared her excitement about portraying this unique character. Anupama Parameswaran said, "I want to thank the media for joining us at the song launch, even though I arrived late due to a film shoot. I apologize for my tardiness. It's my first time attending an event related to Tillu Square, and I'm overwhelmed by the fantastic response from everyone today. March 29th, we're all eagerly looking forward to it.Playing the character Lilly in Tillu Square has been a truly special experience for me. Over the past three years, I've been exploring different roles and breaking away from the typical girl-next-door characters. During the lockdown, I delved into world cinema and expanded my horizons. Portraying Lilly, who coordinates with event manager Tillu (played by Siddu), has been a refreshing and rewarding journey.”

Producer Suryadevara Nagavamshi said, "I believe we're releasing the movie at the right time. By March 31, Class 10 exams will be over, and Inter exams have already finished. 'Tillu Square' will be the first movie of the summer. Also, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections are now scheduled for May 13, giving us an advantage. We chose Bheems Ceciroleo for the music because S Thaman was too busy. I think we're hitting theaters at just the right moment. After seeing the excitement for 'DJ Tillu,' I felt compelled to bring Tillu back to the big screen. I believe audiences are eager to experience the joy of the movie in theaters."
