Blockbuster Film's Sequel Arrives On OTT Just In 3 Weeks!

A lot of industry bigwigs stated that a film's theatrical release and OTT release should have a minimum gap of 45 days to 2 months. It has been said so many times but we often see films hitting the OTT platforms in less than a month of its theatrical release. The latest example is Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh's 'Double Ismart'.

Being a sequel to 'Ismart Shankar' which was a blockbuster back in 2019, 'Double Ismart' arrived in theatres with a lot of hype. The songs became good hits and the promotional content was aimed at pleasing the masses. Going by what the movie's unit said during the pre-release event and interviews, many expected Puri to give a strong comeback after 'Liger'. But that is not the case with 'Double Ismart'.

This mass masala entertainer which was released on August 15th got negative talk right from the start. Many complained about the outdated story and narration of the director. The indecent comedy track of Ali was criticized a lot too. There were complaints regarding the lack of emotion in the film. Apart from a few scenes and Ram's unlimited energy in mass avatar, the movie was filled with flaws according to critics.

With the collections dropping off after the first weekend and the movie ending up as a big commercial failure, the makers seem to have gone ahead with the idea of an early OTT release. It is available on Amazon Prime Video within 21 days and hero's fans are quite shocked by it. Let us see if it gets an encouragement on the streaming site or not.
