By: Shanaz B Syed | 5 Nov 2025 2:00 PM ISTSometimes fame doesn’t just bring fans, it brings strange problems too. Dulquer Salmaan, who’s usually in the news for his cool roles or stylish looks, has now found his name tangled in a food-related mess. The Pathanamthitta District Consumer Commission in Kerala has sent him a notice over a biryani rice issue. He’s the brand ambassador for Rose Brand Biryani Rice, and apparently, things went wrong after people ate biryani made from it at a wedding.
This all started on August 24, 2025. A catering contractor named P.N. Jayarajan from Vallikode bought 50 kilos of the rice for a wedding function. But instead of smiles and full stomachs, guests reportedly ended up sick. People started vomiting and feeling uneasy after eating the biryani. The caterer checked the rice bags later and claimed there was no packing or expiry date printed on them. That’s when he decided to take legal action, saying the company didn’t follow basic food safety rules.
The complaint names A.K. Traders’ Managing Director as the first accused, Malabar Biryani Spice’s Pathanamthitta Manager as the second, and Dulquer Salmaan as the third. Since Dulquer promotes the brand, the commission wants him to appear on December 3, 2025. So far, no one from his side or the company has responded officially.
Fans online are a bit confused, some defending him, others wondering how far a brand ambassador’s responsibility goes. Dulquer, who usually keeps things classy, hasn’t reacted yet. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how this whole “biryani blame” story unfolds.
