Disappointing Day 1 Collections For 'Dunki'!

Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan made a terrific comeback to the big screen after a gap of five years. His 'Pathaan' collected more than 1000 crores and proved to be the biggest hit in Bollywood. It is SRK who broke the record once again with his immediate film 'Jawan'. It collected over 1100 crores and SRK proved that he is the king of Hindi cinema. The two 1000 crore movies made people believe that he will score a hat trick with 'Dunki' in 2023.

But SRK's golden run at the box office and the track record of Rajkumar Hirani did not help 'Dunki'. There were huge expectations on this movie and people were not satisfied when they watched it on the first day. It received a mixed response from the public. Sources say that 'Dunki' earned around 30 crores worldwide. This number is quite shocking as 'Jawan' got more than 100 crores while 'Pathan' got 90 crores on their first days.

While 'Dunki' is definitely not a commercial potboiler or a racy action thriller like the other two releases of Shah Rukh, people expected SRK's third film in 2023 to get over 60 crores. With 'Salaar' affecting the collections down South, we need to see how Prabhas' mass film affects SRK's film in the North market in the coming days.
