By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Jan 2026 12:00 AM ISTOne of the more anticipated sequence in Telugu cinema is Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi 2 which is currently in the production stage. In this context, they have been reports that Sai Sushant who played the character named Karthik in the first part is not a part of the sequel.
In this connection, the director of the film Tarun Bhaskar has issued an official clarification on social media, and here is what he had to say on this crucial matter.
The first time I heard that Sushanth couldn't be part of the project due to personal reasons, it broke me. I needed time to step back, re-analyse the script, and ask myself if it would ever feel the same again, Tharun stated in the fist place about his immediate reaction.
That's when it dawned on me-these characters are all around me. The ENE world is inspired by my own friendships, and that authenticity is its foundation. ENE 2 doesn't come from a place of trying to milk a cash cow.
If that were the intention, I could've done it ages ago. This film happened because the story came to me organically, at the right time. I believe deeply in what it has to say-especially in its undercurrent-but more importantly, it's about the characters love and who have inspired me.
Sushanth might not be part of this journey with us, but Karthik is, he pointed out.
I'm bringing the same world and the same characters back to you. And asI film this story day by day, my confidence only grows-ENE 2 is as honest as it can get. It will be the warm hug from a friend you need. I have complete faith in my cast and crew. With that, the ship is set to sail, ready to weather every storm that comes our way. Some things will never change-trust me, the boys will be back in every sense, he concluded on this matter.
It is evident that the absence of Sai Sushant had earlier bothered director Tharun but he’s beyond it now and wants to give his very best to the film at every level.
