The director-turned-actor, known for creating the cult hit Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi (ENE), opened up about his mixed feelings regarding its much-anticipated sequel. In a fun, late-night conversation with Vikranth about his movie Santhana Prapthirasthu, Tharun got candid about the weight of expectations that comes with revisiting something fans hold so close to their hearts.
He admitted that the thought of ENE 2 is giving him genuine tension, not because of the script or production, but because of the enormous love people have for the first film. Tharun said that while “easy advance would have come in easy for ENE 2,” he didn’t want to succumb to money. He shared that when he saw fans in theatres reciting every dialogue, he realized, It’s no longer my film, it’s everybody’s film. That realization made him proud, but also scared, because how do you top something that already means so much to people?
At the same time, Tharun’s creative journey is moving in exciting directions. He’s stepping into acting with Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, the Telugu remake of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey.
