Fahadh Faasil: “After Retirement, I’ll Be a Cab Driver”

Fahadh Faasil, loved for his roles across Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, recently opened up about his unexpected post-retirement plan. From Aavesham to Pushpa 2 and Vikram, he’s proved himself in every language. Now starring in the comedy thriller Maareesan with Vadivelu, he dropped a surprising bit during a promotional interview.

During a recent interview while promoting Maareesan, Fahadh shared that once he retires from acting, he wants to become a cab driver in Barcelona, Spain. He explained that he loves driving and that it never bores him. Fahadh said, “When people feel they’ve seen enough of me on screen, I’ll move to Barcelona and become an Uber driver. I’m not joking. Driving people to their destinations sounds like the best job.”

He added that Barcelona is his favorite place and that this has always been his dream. Fahadh even told his wife, actress Nazriya Nazim, about this plan and she agreed. He said that driving through Spain, meeting different people, and enjoying the road would be a peaceful and happy life for him.

Maareesan, directed by Sudheesh Shankar, was released on July 25. The film stars Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in lead roles. It has received praise from superstar Kamal Haasan, who called it a comedy with deep emotional meaning. He said the film makes people laugh, but also think, which is the best kind of storytelling.
