Tupaki Exclusive Interview: “Being a Heroine Comes With This…”

Actress Faria Abdullah is currently busy with her upcoming film Sigma, which marks her debut in Tamil cinema. The film stars Sundeep Kishan as the lead actor and is directed by Jason Sanjay. During an exclusive interaction with Tupaki, Faria spoke about her role, her career and how she looks at success and failures in the film industry.

When the anchor asked Faria about the criticism that heroines often receive when a film fails, she gave a calm and positive response. She said that every film has several people involved, including the hero, heroine, director and producer. However, when a film does not perform well, the heroine can also become a target of criticism.

Faria said that being a heroine itself brings a certain image and attention. Because of this, criticism and failures are sometimes unavoidable in an actress's career.

She explained that a heroine's journey is not decided by one or two films. There can be successful films and failures in between. According to her, even if an actress faces a few flops, a big success after five or ten years can make all the struggles feel worthwhile.

Faria believes that the happiness after delivering a major hit can be very special. She said that the difficult phases and failures will eventually become part of the journey, and actresses have to accept them as part of their profession.

Talking about Sigma, Faria revealed that she plays a radio jockey in the film. She described it as an action-adventure heist comedy with a different story.

She also spoke highly about director Jason Sanjay. Faria said that he narrated the story to her through a Zoom call. She was surprised when she came to know that he was only 24 years old. She found his confidence and vision inspiring.

Faria also said that she and Sundeep Kishan had known each other for a long time and always wanted to work together. Sigma finally gave them that opportunity.

The film is scheduled to release worldwide on October 2. With its action, comedy and crime elements, Sigma is expected to offer a different experience to audiences.
