How Are The Masses Embracing 'Gaami'?

After a dull February, the Tollywood box office is getting a boost with the early releases in March. The three releases over the weekend are getting good collections which is a positive sign for business within the industry. Based on its budget and scale, 'Premalu' is doing quite well and Gopichand's 'Bhimaa' is doing well in the mass centres despite the mixed talk. The collections are good for 'Bhimaa' even though there are a lot of flaws in it which shows the scarcity of quality action flicks in Tollywood.

However, it is 'Gaami' who took the top position both in terms of collections and critical applause. The teaser, trailer and songs have raised the expectations on the movie. It is not a masterpiece but the movie definitely gives the Telugu audience a new cinematic experience in theatres. This different movie has attracted a lot of crowds to the theatres. We get an idea about the kind of film 'Gaami' is just through the promotional content.

People who love variety have definitely liked this movie. Had the movie been more tight and more logical at times along with a few more high moments, 'Gaami' would have reached greater heights. However, it managed to satisfy the targeted audience. Interestingly, it is not just the A-centre audience who embraced the film.

It minted around 15 crores in two days which makes it clear that the B & C centre audience too lapped up the movie. The response from the masses is decent as well but movies like 'Gaami' are tough to hold down after the weekend in those areas. On top of that, there is a complete mass masala entertainer like 'Bhimaa' in the competition. 'Gaami' is going to have a big test on Monday and we need to see if it manages to get stable collections or not.
