Game Changer Issue: Tollywood Must Follow Bollywood?
Tollywood is lacking behind in this aspect, as we are still struck with certain conventional and seasonal practises that are in effect even to this day.
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Feb 2025 11:52 AMThe Bollywood film industry has largely westernised the style of filmmaking and also the logical and financial operations associated with the same. Every single department in the Bollywood film industry, including casting, filmmaking and salary remittance has been digitalised and streamlined.
However, Tollywood is lacking behind in this aspect, as we are still struck with certain conventional and seasonal practises that are in effect even to this day. In one such incident, Tollywood is now dealing with a strange situation, and it has something to do with the recent release Game Changer.
A junior artist named Tarun and a few others filed a police complaint against a co director named Swargam Siva, who is associated with Game Changer. The complaint was filed at the Guntur Police Station and it says that the co-Director, who is in question here, reportedly defaulted on the payment that was supposed to be made to junior artists who worked on the film.
The junior artists complained that Siva approved their pay scale of ₹1200 per day and they worked on the film for multiple stretches. However, their payment was not cleared by the concerned Siva.
The junior artist group is now exerting pressure on producer dil Raju to settle the issue and clear the payment default that has been identified in this situation.
This brings us back to the topic that Tollywood must soon be streamlining the production and filmmaking process like Bollywood. Every transaction must be held in digital portals so that the producers can be aware of the fact that all the remittances he made for the technicians and actors are completed on time without any middlemen.
This is the system that is being followed in Bollywood now, and it has been working brilliantly there as there have been no logical and financial complaints. It is about time. The Tollywood also follows this path and makes necessary changes.
