The pan Indian fever has well and truly caught up with the Telugu film industry. We are starting to see increased number of pan Indian attempts from the Telugu cinema space. This year, we have already had Kalki, Devara and Pushpa 2 release in the pan Indian belt. Early 2025 will start with Game Changer which is Tollywood’s first pan Indian attempt of 2025.

In the case of an Indian market, Prabhas is already leading the race with consecutive success across the country. His Kalki and Salaar have fare pretty well at the pan Indian box office. These films did pretty well in the domestic South Indian markets and also set the Hindi market on fire.

Then we saw the smashing debut of the first part of Pushpa in the Hindi belt. The first part could do pretty well in the Hindi speaking markets and set the platform for the second part, which went absolutely bonkers in every single mass belt across the Hindi nation. The second part of Pushpa is now a big money grocer with ₹1700 crore in the bank. This is made possible due to the tremendous run in the Hindi belt.

As for Ram Charan’s RRR co-star Junior NTR, he could test reasonable success with his recent film, Devara. This film ended up grossing ₹500 crore at the global box office with a reasonable ₹70 crore contribution from the Hindi belt. NTR could successfully break the Rajamouli curse and test substantial success with this film.

Now the responsibility is firmly on Ram Charan to set the right narrative for Tollywood in the pan Indian space for the year 2025. After epic, RRR Charan was dealt with a shocker in the form of Acharya. After the failure of the film has been affair bit of gap as he is coming up with Game Changer now.

Game Changer is essentially a litmus test for Charan. As per the industry talk, this film has a whopping ₹500 crore associated with it. The makers could recover ₹200 crore through Naal business, which is a good thing. However, the challenge now is to recover the remaining ₹300 crore through the theatrical run.

For the film to collect ₹300 crore at theatres, it must not just do well in the conventional Telugu belts, but also in Hindi. After RRR Charan would have certainly attracted the Hindi audience to some degree. But with Game Changer, the stakes are high and he must certainly deliver big time to make it all happen. The film will have the Sankranthi advantage in Telugu markets, but it will have to impress the other language audience with its own content, which is the challenge here.
