Those who follow Telugu politics need no introduction to Ganta Srinivas Rao. The senior politician served as the Minister too. The TDP MLA resigned as an MLA in 2021 in support of the movement against the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant. The resignation row saw an unexpected development when almost everyone forgot it.

His resignation was accepted by Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram recently. This also shifted the focus on to the other rebel MLAs in the state. The speaker sent notices to the rebel MLAs in the state.

After the application was approved, Ganta alleged that his application was delayed and that’s why it took so much time for the application to get accepted.

Not just that the former Minister even moved the High Court. In the petition, he alleged that the procedure was not followed in accepting his resignation letter. The High Court heard the petition today. The High Court adjourned the petition and served notices to the Speaker’s office, Election Commissioner, and others.

The resignation row is revolving around the Rajya Sabha elections. Ganta has been claiming that his resignation was accepted so that the TDP will not have an advantage in the elections.

The Rajya Sabha elections will be held on the 27th of February. The elections will be held for the seats that became vacant across the states. Three seats fell vacant in the Telugu states-Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
