By: Tupaki Desk | 9 March 2026 12:12 PM ISTThe business model has completely changed in Telugu Cinema these days as we are witnessing a sharp shortage in successful films. On the other hand, small films are struggling to maintain the momentum at the ticket counter and complete the OTT deals before the release.
Selling a small film to OTT platforms and making a table profit even before release is no longer an easy task in today’s market. However, with the right marketing strategy, it is not impossible either.
The film Gayapadda Simham appears to have proven exactly that. Industry observers say the team focused heavily on creating early buzz through a well cut teaser, promotional content and songs.
When a small film manages to generate curiosity among audiences and buyers through its promotions, marketing the film becomes much easier.
Interestingly, trade circles say the film’s business was largely closed with the momentum created by the teaser itself. The teaser reportedly generated strong attention in the trade, prompting buyers to come forward quickly for the non theatrical rights.
According to industry talk, the film has secured close to Rs 9 crore through non theatrical deals, which include OTT, satellite and other digital rights. In addition to that, the theatrical rights are said to have fetched around Rs 6 crore.
Overall, the film has reportedly done business worth nearly Rs 15 crore even before hitting theatres. What makes this more striking is that the film’s total production budget is said to be around Rs 12 crore.
In other words, the producers have already entered the profit zone before the film’s release, highlighting once again how crucial smart marketing has become for small films.
