'Guntur Karam' Is The Biggest While 'Saindhav' Is The Shortest!

The censor formalities are done and final drafts of all the movies are handed over to the distributors. The Sankranti releases are ready to entertain us and all we have to do is step in theatres and witness the magic on the big screens. It is 'Hanu-Man' which is arriving ahead of everyone else thanks to the paid premieres they organized a day before its actual release.

It will be followed by 'Guntur Karam', 'Saindhav' and 'Naa Saami Ranga'. This is the order of releases and it is Mahesh Babu's film with the longest runtime among the four. The movie is 159 minutes long which is quite common for any star hero movie these days. It is closely followed by 'Hanu-Man' which has a run time of 2 hours 38 minutes. Being a superhero film with a lot of visual effects, it can be justified.

Nagarjuna's 'Naa Saami Ranga' is 146 minutes long and this rural mass entertainer is arriving on the 14th of January. 'Saindhav' featuring Venkatesh is the shortest of the lot as it is just 140 minutes long. The length is quite crisp and a thriller movie with fewer commercial elements requires such a crisp runtime. As we know, runtime is not an issue these days as long as the content is impressive. A movie like 'Animal' which is 210 minutes long got over 900 crores which explains a lot.

Last year Sankranti releases 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Veera Simha Reddy' too are nearly three hours long. But both these movies ended up being hits. Let us see how things turn out this season.
