By: Tupaki Desk | 15 Jan 2024 7:28 AM GMTRecently released"HanuMan" got a lot of attention. It's doing really well at the box office, especially in Hindi. The movie's opening weekend was even better than some other big movies like "KGF" and "Kantara." Speaking about the same, Tarun Adarsh, a trade expert, shared on Twitter that "HanuMan" is the first hit of 2024.
The movie is gaining popularity in both mass areas and national chains. It earned around 12.26 crore rupees in its opening weekend in India. The good thing is that it's expected to continue doing well during the week because there aren't many other big movies releasing until the end of January.
In the Hindi version alone, "HanuMan" made 2.15 crore rupees on Friday, 4.05 crore rupees on Saturday, and 6.06 crore rupees on Sunday. The Telugu version in North India also contributed with 1.09 crore rupees in total over the weekend. So, it looks like "HanuMan" is off to a great start and is set to be a big success in 2024.
Sharing about the same, Tharan Adrash wrote, “Here’s the BIGGG SURPRISE… #HanuMan first *3-day* [opening weekend] total is HIGHER than #KGF [first part] and #Kantara, at par with #Pushpa [note: all #Hindi dubbed versions]… Yes, you read it right! HanuMan emerges FIRST HIT OF 2024… Packs an impressive total in its *opening weekend*… While mass pockets continue to dominate, the national chains have also joined the party… Fri 2.15 cr, Sat 4.05 cr, Sun 6.06 cr. Total: ₹ 12.26 cr. #India biz. Note: #Hindi version.”
“Going forward, the strong hold in mass sectors is a big plus, since these pockets will be driving its biz on weekdays… Also, as highlighted yesterday, lack of major releases - till #Fighter [25 Jan] - should help #HanuMan cement its status,” he added.
The film, directed by Prasanth Varma, mixes superhero action with mythology. While Teja Sajja poteated the main lead, Vinay Rai plays the bad guy. Other important roles are played by Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Raj Deepak Shetty.
