The pre-release event was organised too and Megastar Chiranjeevi arrived as the chief guest. But the movie managed to get only four single-screen theatres in Hyderabad. Of the four, two theatres belong to the distribution company that bought the rights.
Reports claim that only two single screens were allotted to 'Hanu-Man' in Vizag. This is not one film distributor suppressing the other. If there is one film that guarantees collections due to the star hero and another film with a fresh concept with a young hero, a lot of the theatres will incline towards the film that sets the cash registers ringing. This is pure business as everyone is trying to make the most money but not encourage talent. As they are the people who invest the cash, they should look for ways to bring it back. So, no one is at fault here.
Also, experts claim that the makers need to finish the business quickly and not just announce the release date beforehand. They claim that the makers should be proactive and reach an agreement as early as possible. The talk about theatre allotment to 'Hanu-Man' started on 7-8th January and there is expected to be a discussion about it on 10th January. Interestingly, the premieres of the movie will be on the 11th night and the movie hits the screens on the 12th as planned. Having a discussion a day before the release will not help anyone. Who is at fault? Who should be blamed? It is just business!
