HHVM: Producer Takes Big Risk, What’s Up?

Generally, when a big project is announced with a superstar, we can expect distributors and buyers to rush and grab the theatrical rates of this film. More often than not, we see these buyers offering exorbitant prices for superstar driven films, and this is the normal operating procedure in the Telugu film industry.

But in the case of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which has superstar Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, the exact opposite is happening to be the case now. The makers are in a position where they are unable to close out the theatrical deals.

The latest social media reports are suggesting that the producer of the film is releasing it on advance basis without taking any NRA from the buyers. This will essentially mean that the producer is releasing the film on his own in every major market.

This is primarily due to the postponement that affected this project severely and became a stalemate situation. This will also mean that the project will now be released without any standard theatrical deals in place.

Whatever revenue that is generated, will go directly to the producer with a certain percentage of commission going to the distributor. This is not a standard operating procedure for a superstar film, but that is turning out to be a case with this HHVM now.

The makers are reportedly confident about the content, and that is the reason why they agreed to this release proposal in the first place.
