Just as Natural Nani focuses on his next big project, The Paradise, his recent blockbuster HIT 3: The Third Case has run into legal trouble. The film is now at the center of a copyright dispute. A fan of Nani’s has approached the Madras High Court, claiming the story wasn’t original.

The film, directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Prashanthi Tipirneni under Nani’s Unanimous Productions, was released on May 1. Despite some criticism over its violent content, HIT 3 was a massive success. But now, the spotlight has shifted from box office numbers to courtrooms.

Writer Vimal Soni filed the complaint, stating that HIT 3 borrows heavily from her earlier works, Agent 11 and Agent V. While she describes herself as a fan of Nani, she insists the story was lifted from her material. She has submitted her original drafts to the court as evidence.

This isn’t the first time Sailesh Kolanu has faced such claims. Similar accusations surfaced during the release of Saindhav, his film with Venkatesh. With HIT 3 now caught up in legal proceedings, the makers will have to defend their work in court even as the film continues its successful run.
