Generally, producers invest a lot of money on a project based on the market of the Hero, and the kind of theatrical returns that he can bring. This is the common measure that is used for many films these days. However, this calculation went horribly wrong in the case of Bollywood film, featuring superstar, Salman Khan.

Into the story, the makers of Salman’s recent film Sikandar invested Haveli on this project and reportedly paid Salman remuneration of ₹100 crore. This was made out of the calculation that Salman can bring huge revenues if the word of mouth is good, and the film can pull the audience to theatres.

But none of this calculation worked out, and the film turned out to be a disaster box office.

Reportedly the film has collected just ₹90 crore till now. The box office reports and trade reporters are saying that this film will end up around Rs 90 crore in full run.

This will essentially mean that the project will end up collecting less than the remuneration that was paid for Salman Khan. If we add the interest, and then the remuneration itself is much bigger than the theatrical returns of the film.

The producers are in deep trouble now, as they will be losing the majority of the production cost and other expenditure incurred by the film. It is evident that this is one of the biggest lost ventures in Bollywood in recent times, and the producers have lost a substantial amount of money on the same.

The fact that the film could not even recover narration of Salman Khan shows the kind of disaster it turned out to be.

It has to be seen how Salman Khan will come out of this serious troubling situation as none of his films are working at the box office.
