IMAX Coming To Hyderabad: Don’t Get Too Excited!

It has been officially confirmed that the prestigious IMAX projection facility is finally coming to Hyderabad, after many decade of waiting period. This IMAX projection facility will be established at the famous Asian cinema complex, and this news was confirmed earlier. It was established in principal that the largest possible screening experience would be opened with this IMAX screen at the Asian cinema complex.

However, not everything about this projection is positive as there might be certain compromises that might have to be made. Firstly, it’s impossible for new 1.43 not just in India but throughout the world as has stopped manufacturing new DP4K-60L projectors, which power IMAX GT screens.

No new IMAX 70mm projector has been manufactured since 2007 and we simply have a supply chain to manufacture new ones. The only possible scenario is IMAX announcing new IMAX GT projection technology in the future. As of now, no such announcements have been made.

The maximum output that we can get is IMAX with CoLa laser like in Lower Parel, Mumbai, and Saketh, Delhi but even that is much more expensive compared to XT. But even for that to happen, the IMAX projection will have to register a lot of expenditure, and we have to wait and see if this would actually be made possible.
