Hyderabad Welcomes IMAX Again; Is SSMB29 the Launchpad?

Hyderabad is finally bringing back the IMAX movie experience almost after a decade. Earlier Prasads Multiplex hosted the city's only IMAX screen which shut down in 2014 due to technical and management issues. Now this unique big screen experience is being revived for moviegoers in the city.

Asian Cinemas head Suniel Narang has confirmed that a new IMAX theatre is under construction in Hakimpet. It is expected to be ready within the next two years. The announcement has created a buzz among film lovers especially fans of superstar Mahesh Babu as many are expecting this film to get released in this theater for sure.

So this has sparked fresh excitement around SSMB29 Mahesh Babu’s highly awaited movie directed by SS Rajamouli. This film is being planned on a massive global scale and it is expected to be an international action adventure that takes audiences across countries.

Although the film is set to release around 2027 expectations are already high. Many fans are hopeful that Rajamouli will choose to shoot the film in IMAX format. If this happens SSMB29 could be the first Telugu film to be screened at the upcoming IMAX theatre in Hyderabad.
