Though it was widely believed that she wanted to make a career in Bollywood and left the South in 2012 for the same, it’s now coming out that there is much more to that.
A senior producer has revealed that Ileana signed a Tamil movie in 2011 and also received almost ₹40 lakhs advance for the same. However, when the producer cancelled the film and demanded the advance back, she refused to give, saying that the producer wasted her dates. However, a quick counter check proved that she didn’t have any dates, and in the said allotted dates, she was actually shooting for another film.
With the issue going to the Chamber, and Ileana refusing to give back the advance, she was banned from acting in the South for 3 years. Without revealing the ban, the heroine slowly moved to Bollywood movies, the producer said, with Shankar’s Snehitudu, a remake of 3 Idiots, being her last film here.
Starting with 2012’s Barfi, Ileana later acted in a dozen movies in Bollywood, but never got the mighty break, while she has done one Telugu film in between, Raviteja’s Amar Akbar Antony years later. Aged 40, she’s now married and has kids, and also became a Portuguese citizen in 2014.
