Instagram money is now entering big time into the lives of some actresses, but then it’s becoming a curse, too. Instagram subscriptions are not new, as the platform itself has been pushing creators to monetize directly from fans, not just brands. Instagram subscriptions give exclusive content, paid access, and closer fan interaction. And globally, this creator economy is growing fast, and some Telugu actresses like Vishnupriya Bhimineni, Poonam Bajwa, are cashing in on it big time, as they showcase more spicy stuff inside that subscription. That’s not ending well for everyone, though.

Reportedly, some starlets who are part of a few small-budgeted films got replaced after the news of their ‘subscription’ collection on Instagram took centre stage. That’s the reason Ananya Nagalla has immediately given clarity regarding her subscription offer on Instagram. While Vishnupriya is facing a legal case now, her subscription has grown to 7500+ subscribers from 1500 subscribers. Apart from the Aha contract right now, she doesn’t have any other offers in hand. Filmmakers don’t just cast talent. They cast image. And once an actress is seen as “subscription-driven”, the perspective of the audience shifts. Fair or unfair, that label sticks. Hence, some makers are opting out of such talents.

But then, there are those who support this ‘subscription’ idea of some of the actresses. It’s her page. Her audience. Her way of earning. Actors have always monetized their fame through Ads, events, and endorsements. This is just a more direct version of that. And in an industry where offers are uncertain, having an independent income is actually smart, as they feel.
