Jacqueline Fernandez To Become Witness In ₹200 Crore Money Laundering Case

Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has taken an important step in the ₹200 crore money laundering case linked to alleged fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar. She has requested the court to allow her to become an approver, which means she is ready to act as a witness in the case.

A special court in Delhi has asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to respond to her request. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for April 20. This decision could play a key role in the ongoing investigation.

Jacqueline Fernandez has been questioned multiple times by the ED in connection with this case. Recently, she was officially named as an accused in a supplementary charge sheet filed by the agency. This marked the first time she was included as a direct accused in the case.

Earlier, the actress had approached the Delhi High Court to cancel the case filed against her. However, her request was rejected. Later, she also moved the Supreme Court of India, but the court refused to interfere with the High Court’s decision.

The case is based on allegations that Sukesh Chandrashekhar cheated the wives of former Ranbaxy promoters, including Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh, and took around ₹200 crore from them. He is also facing several other criminal cases across the country.

According to investigators, Sukesh and his wife Leena Paulose used illegal money transfer methods like hawala and created fake companies to hide the money earned through fraud. Both of them were arrested by the Delhi Police along with other accused persons. Authorities also applied strict laws related to organized crime in this case.

The upcoming court hearing will be important in deciding the next steps in this high-profile case.
