Known first for family dramas and later for powerful villain roles, the actor recently opened up about a moment on set that shook him deeply. He recalled an incident from the film Anthapuram where a scene felt so real, he thought his life was in danger.
Sharing the memory on his YouTube channel, Jagapathi Babu said director Krishna Vamsi was so caught up in the intensity that he forgot to call “cut.” The actor continued performing until he genuinely believed something had gone wrong. Looking back, he calls it one of the strongest and most unforgettable shots of his career. That experience, he said, reminded him how close cinema can come to real life.
He also revealed a few personal details. His original name is Jagapathi Rao, but in the industry, he became Jagapathi Babu. Fans lovingly call him “Jaggubhai.” On people asking him to color his hair, he smiled and said, “Why hide it? I’m lucky I still have hair.” The actor believes his natural look has become part of his identity.
Even after decades in films, Jagapathi Babu says he carries no big ambitions now. His only goal is to stay fit and healthy. He wants to keep working as long as his body supports him, without chasing unnecessary fame. That simple approach, combined with his fearless acting choices, has kept him connected to the audience even today.
