The update has created huge excitement among fans who have been eagerly waiting for the movie's release after several months of delay.
According to the CBFC website, Jana Nayagan has a runtime of 183 minutes, which is just over three hours. While the certification details are now available, the official list of cuts or changes made to the film has not yet been released.
The movie was originally submitted for certification in December 2025. At that time, reports suggested that the film was likely to receive a U/A 16+ certificate. However, the certification process took an unexpected turn after objections were reportedly raised during the review. The film was later sent to a revision committee, leading to a long delay in receiving the final certificate.
Because of this delay, the film's planned release had to be postponed. Fans had been waiting for updates, and several rumours about the new release date continued to spread on social media over the past few months.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is considered one of the biggest films in Vijay's career. It is also expected to be his final movie as a full-time actor before focusing completely on his political journey. This has made the film even more special for his fans.
The movie is produced by KVN Productions on a reported budget of around ₹500 crore, making it one of the costliest Tamil films ever made. The film also features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju in important roles. Popular music composer Anirudh Ravichander has composed the soundtrack.
Expectations for Jana Nayagan are extremely high because Vijay enjoys a massive fan following across India. His recent success in politics has also increased public interest in the film. Many believe the movie will open to record-breaking collections when it arrives in theatres.
