Jana Nayagan Titibits: Censor, New Shots & Theatres

Finally, the film “Jana Nayagan” featuring Tamil Superstar Vijay in the lead role, is hitting cinemas on July 23rd amidst huge fanfare. On that note, some interesting titbits are coming up about the movie as it has already unleashed huge sales potential at the box office.

Apparently, the Censor Board had earlier objected to Jana Nayagan, saying that the movie might influence voters big time. Now that the film’s leading man has become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, guess the number of cuts that were directed at the film. Quite surprisingly, the Censor Board directed the makers to remove only 20 seconds of footage in the almsot 2 hour length movie, and only 10 seconds of footage is asked to be replaced. That’s an irony.

Also, the film will see some New shots, like Vijay’s gesture in the Tamil Nadu assembly, which was added in a song montage. Along with this, some of the shots from Vijay’s campaigning and his travel towards the CM chair and his TVK party’s victorious moments are also added towards the end, as per updates.

Directed by H Vinoth and based on the Telugu movie Balakrishna and Anil Ravipudi’s Bhagavanth Kesari, Jana Nayagan is being released in almost 8500 theatres. However, the traction for the movie overseas is comparatively low compared to Vijay’s last outing, ‘The GOAT’, while it’s creating a tsunami of sorts at the Tamil Nadu box office.
