The trailer of Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, recently became a hot topic on social media, but not entirely for the reasons the makers expected. While fans were excited to see Vijay in a strong police role, a small detail in the trailer quickly sparked a major online debate.

The trailer was released on Saturday evening and showed Vijay in a powerful cop avatar, backed by intense action scenes and dramatic moments. The film directed by H. Vinoth, is a political action drama and is scheduled to release for Pongal on January 9, 2026. The movie is also special because it is being promoted as Vijay’s final film before he fully enters active politics.

However, soon after the trailer went live, sharp-eyed viewers noticed something unusual. In a very brief frame, a Google Gemini AI logo appeared at the bottom corner of the screen. This small detail quickly went viral, with many people claiming it showed the use of artificial intelligence during the editing or promotional process.

Social media users criticised the makers for missing such an obvious detail, especially for a film that is said to be made on a huge budget. Some felt it showed carelessness, while others raised concerns about the growing use of AI in cinema. A section of viewers worried that technology might slowly replace traditional creative work in filmmaking.

At the same time not everyone was angry. A few fans defended the team, saying the issue was being blown out of proportion. Some reacted with humour, making jokes about the editor and calling it a “rookie mistake.” Memes and sarcastic comments flooded platforms like X and Instagram within hours.

By the next morning updated versions of the trailer appeared online and the AI logo was no longer visible. This suggested that the makers acted quickly after the backlash.
