Janhvi Kapoor entered the Telugu film industry with huge expectations. Being the daughter of legendary actress Sridevi, she already had a strong name and fan following before making her South debut. Her Bollywood journey was also moving in a positive direction, with audiences slowly accepting her as an actress.

However, her Telugu journey seems to be bringing more controversy than success so far. Janhvi made her Telugu debut with Devara: Part 1 alongside Jr NTR. The film was a big release and created huge buzz before its arrival. But after the release, many viewers felt that her role was limited and did not give her enough opportunity to show her acting skills. Her glamorous appearance became a bigger talking point than her performance.

Recently her film Peddi has brought many concerns. Her character got a lot of negative reviews and also bought damage to her fame.

The latest controversy has made the situation even more serious.

An AI-morphed video using footage from the Devara song Chuttamalle was circulated online. The digitally altered video showed Janhvi in a sexually explicit and degrading manner. The actress strongly condemned the misuse of technology and said that such acts are deeply violating.

Janhvi also made it clear that a woman's body, image and personal boundaries should always be respected. Jr NTR strongly supported her and condemned the AI-generated video. Other celebrities, including Chiranjeevi, Vijay Deverakonda and Khushbu Sundar, also spoke against such misuse of technology.

This controversy has once again put Janhvi's Telugu career in the headlines, but not for the reasons she would have wanted.

Janhvi came to Tollywood hoping to expand her career and connect with South Indian audiences. But so far, Devara, Peddi and the latest AI controversy have created mixed reactions around her.

It is too early to say that Tollywood has damaged her career. But there is no doubt that she needs strong and meaningful roles that allow audiences to see her talent beyond glamour and controversies.
