She spoke more openly than usual this time. What bothered her most was the strange trend of turning celebrity deaths into memes. She said the speed at which people jump in jokes, fake posts, wild theories, feels scary. She mentioned how even when Dharmendra passed away, the internet went into this weird frenzy. According to her, the media and social platforms aren’t just losing sensitivity, they’re flattening real human emotions into cheap entertainment.
Janhvi said the aftermath of 2018 still stings. Her late mother Sridevi’s sudden passing in Dubai was already hard on the family, especially being far away in India. Just when they were trying to cope, social media exploded with rumors, edits, and insensitive minute-by-minute updates, creating nonsense stories. Janhvi had to debut in Bollywood just months later, with cameras and comments everywhere, and she remembers feeling like she couldn’t even grieve in peace.
Even now, Janhvi treads carefully when talking about her mother, showing that while the internet has moved on, she hasn’t.
