Janhvi Kapoor, who’s getting ready for her second Telugu Rural drama film Peddi with Global star Ram Charan this summer, ended up winning some extra points with Telugu fans. Out of the blue, she dropped a sweet shoutout for another Telugu star, and people loved the gesture. Simple, warm, and very un-filmy.

She was talking about Rashmika Mandanna’s latest film The Girlfriend. The movie hit theatres in November and landed on Netflix on December 5, picking up good word of mouth. Janhvi added to that buzz by posting a still of Rashmika on her Instagram Story and writing, “#TheGirlfriend Mandatory watch,” with a couple of emojis that made it clear she really meant it.

The Girlfriend is about Bhumi’s sweet college romance slowly turns into a toxic trap, and the film follows her tough but brave climb back to herself.

Honestly, it’s nice seeing these actresses backing each other. No fake rivalry talk, no weird tension. Just one heroine cheering another’s work. Social media could use more of that.
