Peddi Promotions: Janhvi Kapoor Opts Out!

One of the biggest shockers for “Peddi” promotions seems to be the absence of the film’s leading lady, Janhvi Kapoor. For a long time, it has been heard that she will be seen only in the Chikri song in the movie, and a few scenes, but the rest of the story doesn’t have anything to do with her. After the way Devara upset her in the same sense, it looks like the Bollywood actress is not interested in promoting films where she will be seen only for songs, and a report in a leading English daily almost confirms this.

According to the grapevine, the makers of “Peddi” are said to have approached Janhvi Kapoor regarding the Bhopal AR Rahman Live-in concert. However, the actress is given the choice of whether to attend the promotions. The actress chose the latter as she felt that promoting the film in a big way makes no sense when her role is minuscule compared to other Bollywood movies she does. For that reason, she’s said to have decided to stay away from the movie. Well, after charging double what she usually takes for a Hindi film, staying away from promotions in the name of the role-is-short is absolutely ridiculous. But the makers of Peddi haven’t forced her to turn up, say reports.

On that note, many are wondering what the need is for a Ram Charan movie to bring in Janhvi Kapoor, as any other newcomer would have done the part, and would have promoted it well. Guess what, Janhvi Kapoor has neither other big films coming up nor is she part of any big director’s next project. Also, her track record of scoring only flops at the Bollywood box office might have stopped her from coming.
