Janhvi Kapoor's Telugu journey: Is It Over?

There are two types of choices that many heroines who enter the Telugu industry often make. One is picking up the glamorous roles and showcasing their energy as they drive the story forward, mostly through songs and sizzling scenes. Actresses like Simran, Trisha, Kajal, and Samantha went in this way, and the likes of Bhagyashree Bhorse and Sreeleela are going in the same way. Another way is to take up character-driven roles like Keerthy Suresh and Sai Pallavi, and either not indulging in skin show or sometimes doing it for star films.

However, quite unfortunately, though Janhvi Kapoor wanted to travel in the second way in Bollywood, she hasn’t scored any blockbuster there. And after her Instagram page turned out to be super spicy with the kind of photoshoot pictures she shares, that actress made her ultra-glamorous debut with Jr NTR’s Devara, and the song Chuttamalle has taken it to the next level. Now comes Peddi, where her character remained almost the same, but the excessive showcasing of her curves won huge criticism. However, the glamour treatment in the songs remained the same, and even in the scenes, it continued to dominate.

Given the fact that she is Sridevi’s daughter, many expect her to do something like her mother, but of course, the younger generation never knows who her mother is, so they are seeing her as a simple glam-doll. Amidst this talk, will she continue to do similar glam roles, or will she call it enough with Telugu cinema is something to be seen.

And one more thing is that if Janhvi continues to demand ₹6 crores remuneration, definitely filmmakers want more of that glamorous squeeze from her, and if she needs artistic roles, surely she should be available like Tamil and Malayalam stars who will charge below ₹80 lakhs for the role. We have to see what Janhvi Kapoor takes up.
