August 13 marked what would have been Sridevi’s 62nd birthday, and the day turned into an emotional trip down memory lane for her family. The legendary actress, often called India’s first female superstar, left behind not just a towering legacy in cinema but also a lifetime of personal memories for those closest to her. On this occasion, daughter Khushi Kapoor took to Instagram to share rare throwback pictures with her mother.

Khushi’s post featured a collage of three moments. The first showed her as a baby in her mother’s arms, Sridevi’s face partly hidden, but her warmth unmistakable. The second was a family frame with sister Janhvi and their mother smiling together. The last seemed to be from a holiday, capturing Khushi hugging Sridevi tightly in a restaurant, a candid moment of comfort and closeness.

Boney Kapoor also paid tribute, posting a still from English Vinglish and writing, “Yesssss You are not 62 today. You are 26. We are still reliving all your happy birthdays.” His words reflected how, for the family, she remains forever young in memory.

Sridevi, born in 1963, began acting at the age of four in the Tamil film Kandhan Karunai and went on to dominate Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. From Mr. India and Chandni to Sadma, English Vinglish, and Mom, her versatility made her a household name. Her sudden passing in 2018 in Dubai left the film world in shock, but her influence continues. For Janhvi, Khushi, and Boney, these old photographs are more than nostalgia, they’re a way to keep her presence alive.
